Sermon Podcasts & Videos for 2023
You are invited to worship during the season of Advent, the time of year when we remember the days and events leading up to the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas Day. We are embarking on a new series for the season that focuses on the experiences of four sets of often overlooked characters in the Nativity story. Based on the book An Unlikely Advent by author and pastor Rachel Billups, we are guided through the themes of Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace by looking at the Advent stories of Elizabeth and Zechariah, Herod, the Magi, and the shepherds. Each set of unexpected characters has something to teach about living faithfully on the journey to Christmas.
So many people are chasing the American dream in ways that lead to stress, anxiety, and fear—things that can rob us of the ability to enjoy the abundant lives of purpose that God intended for us. All of us have struggled with these issues at one time or another. They are important issues that we cannot ignore. This is why, over the next few weeks, we are engaging in a church-wide grow and worship emphasis called More Than Enough.
During this series, we will explore what the Bible teaches us about contentment, what’s really important in God’s economy, financial management God’s way, and resisting the temptation of distraction from what God wants for our lives.
What if God is really More Than Enough for us?
During the latter half of September and running through October, we are embarking on a new worship series called POSSIBLE: When the Impossible Becomes Possible. Based on the book Signs and Wonders: A Beginners Guide to the Miracles of Jesus, by author Dr. Amy-Jill Levine. We will explore selected miracles of Jesus in their historical and theological contexts. With each miracle, we will look at not only how past witnesses would have understood the events, but also how people today can draw meaning from Jesus’ words and actions.
Directly complimenting this worship series is our Sunday School small group, which will be studying the Signs and Wonders book. Let’s grow together, Sunday mornings at 9 a.m.!
What do you believe? What do you believe about your faith, about the world, about God? How do your beliefs affect your decisions and behavior? Why does it matter? This fall, we will explore what Christians believe and why. We will explore the historic Apostles’ Creed using Rev. Adam Hamilton’s study, Creed: What Christians Believe and Why, as our inspiration. Each week, we will explore a section of the Creed – what we believe about God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Church and the Communion of Saints, the Forgiveness of Sins, and the Resurrection of the Body. You are invited to join the Sunday Morning grow group at 9:00 am and worship each week at 10:00 am as we dig deeper and grow together!

Have you ever heard the phrase “for when I am weak, then I am strong”? That actually comes from the Bible, 2 Corinthians 12:9-10. But what does it mean? And how do we live in strength when we feel weak? In January and February, we will explore how prayer – and specifically, the Lord’s Prayer, makes us strong in weakness! Most Christians know the Lord’s Prayer by heart; we pray it often, at different times and in different settings. We remember it as the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples. But do we really understand and appreciate the meaning and power of its words, what we ask of God each time we pray it? Join us Sunday mornings in January and February 2023 at
10 a.m., in-person and online, for WEAK and strong. Based on the book The Lord’s Prayer by pastor and author Adam Hamilton.
